Orion Nebula (M42) is located about 1.344 light years from Earth and is estimated to be 24 light years across.
It is the closest region of massive star formation to Earth and is thus sometimes referred to as a Stelar Nursery.
The Orion Nebula can be seen with the naked eye as the “middle star” of asterism Orion’s Sword
This photograph is the first attempt with my new Canon EOS Ra however as the telescope wasn’t correctly aligned I wasn’t able to do any long exposures and had to stick with only 15 second exposures at a fairly high ISO.
In any case from such a short combined result I’m very impressed with this camera!! 😀
