Jellyfish Nebula, a.k.a. IC 433 is a super nova remnant located in the Gemini constellation and is about 5.000 light-years from Earth.
The super nova is estimated to have taken place about 30.000-35.000 years ago and has by now spread out to an apparent size of almost the double of the full moon – i.e., 50 arcsec (the sun/moon are about 30 arcsec for comparison)!
That calculates into a total size of around 70 light-years.
The remnant of the original star’s core is thought to be a neutron star – created by the immense forces of the super nova explosion.
The image was taken from my balcony in Vedbæk (Bortle 4) about 20 km north of Copenhagen.
